Catherine Nicholson

Managing Director

Catherine has over 23 years’ experience in local government, housing, welfare reform, and charitable organisations. Since joining Mindful Housing in 2011, she has led the organisation’s growth from a small team to a thriving charity supporting people across the region.

With extensive expertise in housing funding, financial governance, and strategic leadership, Catherine works closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable while delivering high-quality support services. She is also a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, working with local and national organisations to reduce stigma and influence positive change within housing and support services.

Rachel Blair

Operations Manager

Rachel brings extensive experience in property management and supported housing, having previously managed large property portfolios and led high-performing teams. ARLA qualified and currently studying with the Chartered Institute of Housing, she oversees housing referrals, property sourcing, and tenancy management across the organisation.

Working closely with maintenance teams, Rachel ensures properties are maintained to a high standard and that tenants receive safe, suitable accommodation. She also provides expert guidance on housing law, tenancy matters, and supported housing options for referral partners and professionals.

Stephen Sweeney

Housing Manager

Stephen is a qualified housing professional with extensive experience in local government and supported housing. He leads the team responsible for delivering tailored support to tenants, helping individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to live independently within their communities.

Working closely with care coordinators, mental health professionals, and partner agencies, Stephen ensures tenants receive consistent, person-centred support. He is committed to maintaining high standards of safeguarding, best practice, and service delivery, creating safe and supportive environments where people can thrive.

Sara Pimblett

Business Development / Charity Fundraising Manager

Sara is a qualified member of the Institute of Fundraising with over 10 years’ experience in local government benefits and welfare support. As Fundraising & Technical Manager, she leads fundraising initiatives, develops relationships with charitable trusts, and helps secure funding that enhances the lives of the people we support.

Sara also provides expert advice on funding and compliance matters, supports the organisation’s financial governance, and serves as a Director of the charity, helping to ensure strong leadership and sustainable growth.
